Dr. E.V Soniya is Scientist G and Dean (Academic Affairs) at RGCB. Her research interests include understanding molecular mechanisms involved in the interactions of plants with both biotic and abiotic factors, especially plant-pathogen interaction, plant stress responses and metabolic pathways for production of secondary metabolites. Dr Soniya also heads the Molecular Forensics & DNA Technologies (MFDT) whose major service is to provide human and wildlife DNA Fingerprinting services for judicial, crime investigating and law enforcing agencies. This includes maternity/paternity disputes, crime, alleged rape, man missing, child swapping in hospitals, linking suspects to biological evidence at crime scenes, personal identification for immigration and wild life poaching .
