Dr. Surya Ramachandran is a Senior Program Scientist at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology. Her research goal is the use of multiple ‘omic’ data for developing biomarkers and point of care tests for prognostication as well as predicting acute events in chronic cardiovascular diseases. To implement these programs, she uses tools including in vitro cell cultures, in vivo transgenic models, human clinical specimens, genomics, proteomics, metabolomic approaches and targeted genome editing.
